Wow Episode 35! Woot! As always, we're here to help you unlock your potential as a leader in the solar industry. Today, we're gonna do something a little different, and we're doing a deep dive into a book that's been highly recommended by a number of SunCast guests.

The show is usually long-form narrative where I interview leaders and executives about how they are scaling their solar companies and extract the hard-won lessons for your benefit.  If you're familiar with the format, I always ask, "What's on your nightstand", or "What book has had the most impact on your personal or professional life."  Well, this book, "Scaling UP" by Verne Harnish, is one of the books recommended that has left an imprint on my mind. So I thought I'd share my review of the book w/you here on SunCast so you can decide if it's something you want to dig into further.

Scaling Up is more of a textbook or workbook for CEO's and their executive times to work through issues involved in scaling up their businesses.  It's a bit like drinking from a fire hose, but the book is organized in a very digestible reference format, complete with executive summaries for every chapter.

Reading and absorbing Harnish’s overview may take perseverance, but it packs an enormous punch. And it's worth the effort.  It's organized in 4 areas:
